Our ULTIMATE R 1300 valve cover and cylinder protectors

Effective protection for the exposed valve covers – developed as a discreet alternative or as an addition to a protection bar

The cylinders of a BMW Boxer are exposed. Stone chips, a tip-over or brushing against a wall while manoeuvring in confined spaces can quickly leave their mark on the valve covers.

As the valve covers are force-fit mounted, they can deform in the event of an impact – with the risk of leaks or damage to the sensitive ShiftCam valve train. This is exactly where our ULTIMATE R 1300 protectors come in.

The protectors follow the contours of the valve covers precisely with minimal clearance. The impact-resistant protector is made from fibre-reinforced high-performance plastic. Segments made from a high-temperature-resistant, elastic material are integrated on the inside. They absorb external forces and distribute them evenly across the shell structure of the protector – effectively reducing force and torque peaks.

A form-fit stainless steel protective insert acts as abrasion protection in the event of a serious incident. It prevents damage to the magnesium valve cover and thereby reduces the risk of oil loss and consequential engine damage. In many cases, this allows the motorcycle to remain rideable after an incident and enables the journey to continue without restriction.

Installation is straightforward using the supplied kit.
