Ilmberger Carbon: quality and innovation

The name Ilmberger stands for the highest quality and innovation in carbon manufacturing. Each component is produced in-house using carbon fabric specially developed for Ilmberger as the base material. This material is processed in an elaborate autoclave procedure, offering numerous advantages.

Technical details and manufacturing

Prepreg, a pre-impregnated carbon fabric, is characterised by uniform resin distribution and a high fibre volume content. This results in maximum strength and flexibility of the components. Processing in an autoclave – a high-pressure oven – ensures perfect, uniform curing and a flawless surface finish.

This method prevents air inclusions in the material and guarantees consistently high component quality. The carbon components are laminated by hand with great expertise and care, ensuring consistent fibre alignment without distortion. After curing in the autoclave, the edges of the components are precision-trimmed by robot to ensure a perfect fit and the highest quality.

Unique plastic powder coating

The coating not only protects the components against environmental influences but also provides an unparalleled depth effect. No other carbon manufacturer offers this type of sealing, which prevents ageing of the components and significantly extends their service life. The final clear coat on this component is satin-matt, creating a perfectly smooth surface that further enhances the luxurious, sporty appearance of the carbon parts. Every component leaving production is a masterpiece of engineering and design, meeting the highest standards.
